My Hopper's hard drive is dying. Is there a way to record directly to my EHD or to another Hopper? A new Hopper will not arrive until next week.

Yes, to EHD (provided the function is still working). No, to Hopper.

You can not record directly to the EHD. It must record to the Hopper first and then be transferred to the EHD.... No to Hopper to Hopper...

True, but I was thinking he wanted to get recordings off the Hopper.

Man that's a shame to see a hopper hdd already failing.Who manufactures the hdds for the hoppers?I got a retired 501 from back in 2000 and the hdd still runs fine.

Supposed to be a pretty decent hdd.Good ones and bad ones in them all.I still prefer WD though.
I do too, (WD) but my longest lasting drive, using as a D: drive backup is a 320 gb Hitachi..8+ yrs and still kicking.

Ahh yes... The DeathStar!

I prefer WD, Seagate second, Hitachi hasn't let me down either so far *knocks on wood*.

My new Hopper arrived today. All is well except for the fact that my Joey is forever trying to link to the old Hopper. How do I fix this?
I like the fact that I could restore all my timers through the remote.
