Harmony Remote Adaptor for PS3

I think the USB device is acting like a driveway to a garage. Any car can drive into the garage, but without the IR emitter there's no driveway. Once that's there all the codes that Logitech have will work. If you have a good Harmony it just gets the codes from the website, doesn't need to learn from the Nyko. If you have an old harmony, you're limited to what the Nyko can teach it.

What might not still work as you said is power. There must be some passive Bluetooth stuff active to allow for the BT remote to power it on if the USB ports are inactive when it's off.

All speculation, I don't own any of this, probably won't for a long time.

In short, if you give Logitech a bag of money, they'll get everything working for you. Their dongle communicates via bluetooth, which backs up the 'USB cant power on' stuff.
