Harmony Remote and HR24 Question..

I am controlling my HR24-500 with my Harmony 890. When I hold down the FFWD button, it takes a long time to skip to the next tick mark and then to the end of the program. It works a lot better with the stock remote.

Any idea what setting I need to change?

If it works better with the stock remote, try lerning the stock remote's FFWD into the Harmony. Could be a slight difference in teh IR code the stock remote is sending vs the code in the Harmony database.

I was buying a harmony about every 12 to 18 months. I finally bit the bullet and got one of these:

After you start FFWD, pressing the skip key will immediately take you to the next tick.

Maybe I am just misinterpreting your words.....Don't hold down the FFWD button on the Harmony. Each time you push it increases the speed of FFWD up to 4X. As Bob said, in FFWD mode selecting the skip forward or back key will take you one tick forward or backward.

If that is not the issue you are having. You can learn the IR signal of FFWD or do manual adjustments of the IR signal. The Harmony software gives you lots of options on tweaking the signal.
