I just got a Satillite dish for xmas. Tell me if im wrong here but i have the following Dish, lnb, receiver? Anything else?

What kind of equipment? If you mean free to air receiver, a dish with linear ku lnbf , you should be close to running order. Some good rg6 cable and connectors (go for the compression type-connectors) and your on your way. Once you get a taste of what's available, you will probably be looking for a motor to move the dish also. Starting out with a fixed dish is a good idea though, to get a feel of aiming a dish and setting up the equipment. What'd Santa bring you?

LNBF's are powered by the receiver sending 18 or 13 volts dc down the coax. The two levels of dc voltage also switch the polarity. The same voltage powers a Diseqc switch, if used.
