HD for life and pause of service

If I put my service on the hold program do I lose the HD for life?
Will I be able to view my recorded programming? Will my OTA turner still function (if I could receive locals)?

You will not lose your HD Free for Life. You can view your recorded content on the DVR (an EHD will NOT work). I do not believe that the OTA will work while an account is on Pause as this requires a fully active receiver, yet I have no way on confirming.

internal hard drive...yes
external one..no

Will my OTA turner still function (if I could receive locals)?

no. While you may be able to scan channels they wont allow you to select them as you wont have guide info (since the account is on pause)

I think with Directv you can't even watch recorded content, regardless if internal or external, Although you probably can watch for maybe for a few days, but everything needs to be disconnected from the receiver for that to work, before they put it pause.
