unfortunately i am on a contract with Dish so i will have to pay a penalty.

I've been with DISH since 1996 and I have found that you need to put a 3 month smoothing filter on every decision. First DISH will be a blessing. 2 weeks later, Charlie is the devil hisself. Another 2 weeks and its all better.
The board is good because it gives the folks at E* a chance to float stuff around and judge reactions, but NEVER make decisions on what you see here, especially if it changed in the previous week or so.
Again, give it a little time. DISH will come up with a retentiion plan that will likely satisfy you and will definitely cost less than the several hundred dollars you will lose by bailing on your contract.
