FYI: Actually I am technically savvy - PhD in Computer Science. And my question was very simple: does or doesn't 722 box have HDMI v.1.3a and that's it. I didn't ask for an explanation of the HDMI protocol and it's versions.

just drop it

HDMI protocol has nothing to do with satellite broadcating.

You are not doing yourself any good just drop the point and get over it. HDMI is only a transfer system and can be used by any electronic device. Need to be 1.3a compliant isn't necessary for the vast majority of those items.
