HDNet Movies - commercials and censoring

I noticed a few days ago that HDNet Movies is now riddled with commercials (like every 15 min it seems) and is also censoring movies. Was there a change in ownership or something?

If they're gonna censor things and have commercials, it doesn't really seem like a premium movie channel.

It has never been considered a "Premium" channel. You pay extra for those.

We do pay extra for HDNet Movie channel, it's part of the Movie Pack that is $10 a month.
I don't know if it considered a Premium channel but it has some good movies that I will DVR but not now.

I've removed the HDNet Movie channel from my favorites list. Adding commercials did it. Now, the HDNet Movie channel is no different than Tubi or Plex.

AXS TV owns HDNET movies and now they have ruined the AXS TV channel with the addition of a side bar and a bottom news scroll. Arghhhh

Arghhhh is right... Bloomberg did something similar to this - only worse. Not sure why...

ALL thw streamers are getting more subs on their ad tiers, which is like going back in time. Don't want therm, pay up! In the no options case of HDNET...it was nice while it lasted.

by the way, AXS TV along with HDNet movies is owned by Anthem Sports & Entertainment, an Canadian entertainment company owned by Leonard Asper, son of Izzy Asper the founder of CanWest Global Communications a major media company in Canada that since went bankrupt the sold to Shaw Media.

Sorry to resurrect this old post, but it appears HD Net Movies got added to ALL ATxxx packages now - at least according to DISH's online channel package listings. I recalled seeing it on my AT250 pkg over a month ago, but assumed it was just in free preview.

Mark Cuban sold Broadcast.com, an audio streaming service, to Yahoo! for $5.7 billion in Yahoo! stock in 1999. Cuban sold most of his Yahoo! stock that same year, netting over $1 billion

Or perhaps beside the fact I've had it now going on 2+ months, the online channel lineup card, which was just updated this month, DOES now show it in ALL ATxxx pkgs, as I posted (previews are not updated on these cards)

But honestly it's a nothing burger for me, since all it's showing is the same "3 dozen" movies they've been showing for years, now censored & chopped up with commercials - no wonder it's now even in the cheapest base pkg.

I happened to be on an Caribbean cruise while those finals were being played.Large crowds around the public tvs with the locals rooting for the Heat and the rest of us rooting for the underdog Mavericks. First and last time I rooted for a team from Dallas.
