Help! HR20-100 seems stuck on startup?

Hello,

Just hooked all the cables etc to the receiver. I didn't realize the unit turned on by itself and started downloading the new software. I somehow turned off the machine and then turned it back on.

Software screen eventually said download complete.

Then the next screen says Step 1 of 2 "checking satellite settings" but its been on that screen for awhile now-seems stuck.

Any suggestions? Is there a way to start the whole process over?


P.S I previously had the H20 installed and running fine, just switched all the cables.

Hmm do I need to activate the box first before all this stuff?

I think you can get to the menu despite it not finishing the guide info download. Your setup may not be done in alignment to the dish and multiswitch configuration. See if you can exit out of the download and do the sat setup wizard on the unit. Menu - Settings - Setup - Sat & Ant - Repeat Satellite Setup

Thanks for the suggestion. : I ended up disconnecting the power cord as was suggested by another forum and then reconnected after 15 or so minutes. Seems that everything else has downloaded etc correctly.

I didn't realized i had to go thru that whole sat alignment etc once again. I kinda forgot how I did the first one. Hopefully everything will be fine.

Cool. Welcome to the HR20 world. It will take a bit of time but you are going to love it.
