Hi,

I am upgrading to HD programming and need your help in hook up. I have a Onkyo TX SR 504, Viewsonic N3260w,Sony DVD player and a Vip 211 (upgrading from 311).
I currently use Composite cable to connect my Dish Network 311 to my receiver. How do I connect the Vip 211? I do not have a HDMI input in the receiver - I have HDMI input in my TV though.

I was thinking of using component video to connect the Vip. Is there a way, I can use the HDMI input TV and connect it and get HDMI outputs, Dolby 5.1 etc?

Please let me know. thanks for your time.

Regards,

Mo

Use HDMI or component to connect to the TV then use optical digital audio from the 211 to the amp to get the DD5.1.

Talk about timing....
