Hello,

I am not very tech savvy and I searched but I found many regarding DirectTV, not the Dish.

I recently switched from Cable and Have a Hopper and a Joey. The wire for the joey (Dish Signal) shares the same wall as the living and master. Since it is odd I watch in the master I would like a "splitter" so I can accomplish this.

I tried a splitter from Comcast with no luck. Basically looking to do this:

------Line in from Dish----SPLITTER--------LIVING ROOM
---------MASTER BEDROOM

...and I would move the Joey when I feel like it.

What type of splitter? Is it called that?

I have HDTV. I am also interested in purchasing a Joey from Amazon. Will that work with my leased hopper?

Thanks for all of your help.

Owned or leased, the monthly fee for a Joey is the same. But you can deactivate and later reactivate an owned Joey.

The Hopper system is wires differently. You need a node.

I'm a little confused as to what you are trying yet. You already have a Hopper and Joey, where are those located now? If you are thinking of adding another Joey you can purchase one and add it to the system. You can split the cable that goes from the Node to the current Joey but that's the only line you can split.

Slap a wifi adapter in the joey, log it into your network and you can move it around without any wires at all. (assuming you are internet connected and have wifi)
This is an unsupported (by dish) method but seems to work well if your network can handle it.
A wireless joey is on the way that will use its own network if your willing to wait for it

You can use a tap on the wire going to the hopper

Yes what he said ^^. This will accomplish what you want for no extra monthly fee.

Another option would be to split your HDMI and run one through the wall to the Master Bedroom and pick up another remote.

Hello. Sorry for the confusion. I have a Coaxial in the wall for the Joey, in which I would like to split into two cables, for two Joey's. What kind of splitter do I need, or device?

Its a specific adapter that's available at the dish store or eBay amazon ect...
