So earlier today I found out that my VIP722K can backup settings to a 20 or 21 remote. So I did that.

The first thing the Wizard did was tell me the remote that has been running the 722 since it was new was not registered or something to work with this 772 and did I want to make it so. So I clicked yes and it "fixed it" so now my settings are backup on the 722 and the remote.

Now several hours later I went into the living room to watch TV and the remote in the living room no longer works. So I figured I should bring it into the bedroom and press its System Wizard button and get it configured.

Guess what. When the wizard button is pressed, the 722K displays this message:There was an error make sure you have not moved the remote and the front is not blocked and it is no more than 10 feet away.

One of the four times I tried this (not the first by the way) a screen came up that said to make sure the "1" key was inserted and it was in IR. (so I did that). But that screen hasn't come back, just the There was an error (926)
WTF

You need to do it at tv1 location. Press system info on the receiver and readdress the remote.

I don't understand. I am at the tv1 location if that means the 722K is right in front of me. And what address do I change, the UHF or IR? It was working fine using UHF but not it won't work in either IR or UHF.

Edit: It is now working in IR mode.

I think Jimmer was saying to readdress the remote manually. Press the system info button on the front of the receiver, and then press the record button a couple times on the remote. IR and UHF is determined by what the switch next to the batteries is set to.

Perhaps I misled some. The 722K is in single user mode and the house is wired with hdmi to all flat screens to there isn't any tv2 location.

In UHF mode because that is what quit working?

Edit: Never mind did in UHF and it is working.

Thanks all!
