Help with 50.0 Remote

The touchpad on my 50.0 remote will not stay lit when trying to access the numbers. When I press the "123" button, the numbers appear on the TV screen, but they do not stay lit on the touchpad as they are supposed to. They light up for a second and then disappear.
Any thoughts on a fix short of purchasing another remote?

Try out a 54.0 remote control. They work better than the 50.0.

Have you changed the batteries?

I think Dish made the 50 remote so short lived because they figured out that they're junk

I still love my 50.0, but in the living room, been playing with the 54. It’s equally good.
