Help with "E" to "D" Switch

Switching back to "D" from "E" after 3 years. What HD DVR should I request considering I need a OTA hookup? I also have an EHD that currently uses a USB connection. Can I use this EHD with my new HD DVR? My old "D" setup included the HR20.

i beleive all externals have to be esata
just get a new case and swap the drive, no big deal

ive got an ide case that has esata
a sata case with firewire/esata/usb combo

He means the external hard drive has to have an esata connection, usb doesn't work with the Directv dvrs.

I took it that you planned to remove the drive from your current case and put into an eSATA case.
If your current case has both USB and eSATA then it should work.
However, not all eSATA cases are created equally.
