Let me start by telling you my story. I signed up for E* about a month ago. After I started, I was having satellite losses( sat 129) often. I called E* because of this and told them that I was thinking about cancelling because of this. I told the account specialist about my concern and she told me it was a line of sight issue and that I would always have problems, so we should just cancel. She never once offered to send a tech to my house to check on it. Well a friend of mine who was a former Dish installer came to visit and I was telling him what happened. He told me that sat 129 was always having problem in some areas. He went up on my house and said that my line of sight was very good. So I called E* today and tried to restart my account. I had already sent my equipment back. I was told that to restart my account I would have to purchase my equipment. Not lease but purchase!!!!! I tried telling them that I wouldn't have cancelled if I wasn't told by one of their employees that it was a line of sight issue and I would be better off cancelling. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she transferred me.The supervisor told me she could do nothing for me and I had to purchase my equipment.

Now my question. Is there someone better I could talk to? Am I out of luck? The surevisor was the coldest sounding person I have ever heard and didn't even want to hear the whole story.

Just an idea, but if you have another adult (spouse) in the same household, put a "new" account under their information. Just have them tell them that you moved out and they want their own account. I don't ever believe that anyone else has been denied an account from doing it this way.

That sure sounded silly to say to a customer...duh! But, maybe the email will garner you some results!

Good Luck!

You can probably get a stronger and stabler signal for your National HD in Charleston by swapping out your Dish 1000 for two Dish 500 and have one of them aimed at 61.5 and the other aimed at 110/119.
