While searching about the old Radio Shack 5 foot dish system (see the "adventured in dish hunting" thread for that) I stumbled upon an old list of satellite channels and satellite lists.

It doesnt list where the satellites were in the sky so if someonre knows that would be great

Date shows 7/28/97 (From a Radio Shack research list)

kinda weird to see a few duplicated of channels on different satellites

I am not sure why my previous post was removed.

Here's the transponder and channel's from Aug 1990. (this one was easy to get on top of a bunch of stuff) I have ton's of old satellite publications, catalog's, spec sheets, etc going back to the early to middle 80's. I knew hanging on to these would some day be good for something. A lot of stuff is burried in boxes from years ago.

Never knew they had that one, I thought they had a system with a 8'dish or so, missed out on that one. Looks like a Uniden receiver, SQ560 or similar.

Also remember
Viewer's Choive PPV
Request TV PPV
I still have recorded movies from these channels
good ols c-band days.
I think early 90s

Playboy F4, 24... Tvn coming soon, I rented several movies via videopal from them...

I still have a history in my Vc2+ for TVN movies ordered. Still going strong on the original battery since 1991. I think it'll make it till there are no more Vc2+ channels.

In the late 80's there was First Run PPV on F2 and the Zap channels on S2 also.

Used to watch the Tonight Show (Johnny Carson) in the early eighties at 7:00 PM Central unscrambled on one of the Weststars (can't remember which one). Good music from Doc's band where the commercials were supposed to be.

I have to look but i think i still have a 1986 June Orbit Magazine

They had a 8 foot dish system with a 930-1430 block downconversion, in the late 80's. They also had two 9 foot systems one with a Uniden 9000 and another with a Memorex (Echostar 8) receiver in the early 90's. I have the catalog ad's for them also.

I'll try to scan more and post it when I have the time to go through some of my stuff.

I remenber late 80's at early morning in a TJ bar everybody watching a horror movie on this ZAP movie ch.
At that time SelecTV movie ch still on the air i think.

Brings back alot of memories for me. The good old day when the RSN's had their own identity. A friend of mine had a BUD. We used to watch the Boston sports teams all the time and HNIC on CBC. It really sucked when they started "scrambling" these channels.

First two images are for July-August 1997.
Last two images are for 1993.

Cable Video Store-push a button, rent a movie! lol
I remember watching Cable Video store PPV that summer GI was rolling out VC2 plus>
used to leave my system on the channel, around 10am my time it would pop on, stay on until 7-8pm while they tinkered and tested the system. Sometimes go black for a bit, then come back on.
Summer of 88 I think. Still got sev movies on vhs from those days.

Wow, I havent seen alot of those sat names since about 1998 when I bought a house that came with a 10' dish and a analog IRD. That's why I'm getting back into FTA, because I miss all those feeds. I remember having to set up all the sats into the box because the acuator arm had a stripped worm gear nut( the new nut was on the kitchen counter). When I got it all set up I had a very good sub on the analog IRD for about 8 months, then it expired. During that 8 months I cut back alot on my expressvu system, and when it was time to renew the C-band I got almost the same package as it had except for the stars movie channels (I still subed to HBO) . After that most of the sats had new names but my box wouldn't let you add new sat names so I had to get used to remebering the old short forms for the new sat names.
