Same here, wife and kids could care less about HD, but she comments about the great scenery when it's in HD, but as long as there is sound and movement, blurry, fuzzy, granular, it doesn't seem to matter, even know we have 6 HDTV's now.

The AT100 was previously named AT60, was it not? Isn't the actual channel count higher now than a year or 2 ago? What channels did you have that you don't anymore- and miss? Court TV? RFD?

The cable company in my area charges $19 for basic lifeline service, that's 15 channels. Dish's AT-60/100 Pak received no price increase over last year, if you can find a better deal go for it, otherwise stop whining.
