On July 31, I had 3 different recordings give me an error code 7 when I selected them to play (they were all recorded on July 31). I did a check status, and it stopped at 60%. I researched some and discovered those two things indicated a hard drive either bad or going bad. Not wanting to spend a ton of time on the phone with support, I initiated a DISH Chat. He had me try to open an older recording and it played just fine. The only thing he would do was initiate a "Reauthorization to my receiver" which he said would take 24 hours to complete. It was late and I just said, "Good grief, I'll call someone later". The next day recordings were made successfully and watched, and it appears to be working today also. I did notice my disk usage went from 33% to 47% overnight with nothing recording. I checked and my H3 was initially installed in 2016. I cannot find anyplace to run a hard drive check. Firmware version H710. Check status now completes with status warning "Port : 3 Generic Warning " Suggestions ??

Don't worry about the generic port 3 warning. It is global and has to do with the 3rd satellite that no longer exists.

Maybe the receiver detected hdd errors and move the data/recording and marked bad sectors and there for now show less space cause the bad sectors have been marked as such?

so they know about this do they plan to fix/address as that has been thing going back quite a few builds. or one those thing they know about but put in triage cause they dont want to be bothered ? :shh

There's nothing to fix. It's not affecting anything.

You're in luck. I found another one recorded on that day that I had not checked yet.
