Today while watching a show I stopped it and when I went back to watch it again it was gone. I did not delete it. It runs for a long period and then shows no recordings even though it showed 2 recordings (the number on the cover). On some other recordings it shows 4 recordings which I should have and then it will only show one when I go to watch them. I did several resets and a hard reboot, but it is the same.

Any idea what is going on and how to fix it?

I just came here to see if anyone was having this issue.

I'm on a Hopper 2 and mine is doing the same thing. I'm missing A LOT of shows now. This stupid company did something similar last year and I have no idea what happened then either. What a garbage service.

Same issues, a lot of my recordings are gone but if i bring them up in the DA app and press watch on the TV they show up and play. Other recodings won't populate in the recordings UI. Something's up.

P.S. Hopper 3

I’m having the exact same issue with a Hopper 3. Go to my DVR, and it will show multiple episodes of a show available. Click on the show and most of them just disappear.

Not sure if I'm experiencing the same problem - I have a Hopper3 with 2 Joeys. Rebooted them all multiple times. I press DVR and see my (7) main folders. I open one up and I see all the subfolders (auto created because of multiple episodes). I select one of the subfolders and I get the right-marching green boxes for about 10 minutes until the reciever reverts back to live TV.

CSR says it's a known issue and added my account to the list of affected systems.. That helps (not). I've said it before (after a Hopper2 upgrade trashed two EHDs) and I'll say it again: Dish, test your upgrades before releasing them (or pay me to be a beta tester!).

There have been no software updates in at least several weeks and this problem just recently started so I'd guess the problem is in one of the data or guide files. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

I get the same thing a lot, even before this issue today on my Hopper 2.

Figured as much. I also have the same problem with several of the recordings on my H3 as well. It just started yesterday (May 11).

First thing I checked was the software version, since the last time this was a big problem, it was back in August, right after an update. But when I saw that no new update had been released, I figured something else must've gone haywire. Hoping Dish notices this and pushes out a fix quickly. At least we know our recordings are still there, just can't access them directly off the Hopper 3 or Joeys themselves.

As noted in another thread by another member the missing recordings show up in Dish Anywhere and can be played from there. They also are there if you have 2 Hoppers and pull the list from the remote Hopper. All the recordings are there and they play normally from the remote Hopper.

I'm having the same issue on my Hopper 3.

Thanks, sounds like you were spot on. I shut the unit down last night and this morning it is working correctly. I had just dealt with the Wally/mobile antenna issue last camping trip, and had just come come from a 7-day trip looking to watch a few recorded season finales, hence my lack of patience with the whole thing.

It's fixed for me now. That was fast. I was expecting it to last until Monday at the least... CSRs must've gotten too many complaints on these two days alone.

This does make me wonder though... if you don't use the Dish Anywhere app (guessing Hopper needs to be internet-connected for that), and you only have 1 Hopper in the house (like most of us do), then does that mean there's the possibility of permanently losing access to everything recorded on the H3? I mean, assuming the HD doesn't fail, the recordings are still there, but the guide data and the UI for the episode listings should be separate from the recordings themselves. Even if there's no data available for the shows or episodes, you should still be able to access them directly on the DVR itself. :facepalm
