HOPPER 3 UPGRADES

I wouldn't say it runs out fast. I suppose it can if you are recording every episode of multiple series. It took over 900 recordings for me to fill my Hopper with Sling.

That's true since when I mean fast, it could be years except everything I've recorded is SD. I'm currently at the 96% mark but that's because there are some stuff I still have not watched yet but usually it goes back to 86% or so daily before the new episodes are recorded. There was a time when I didn't watch things fast enough and it did fill up to 100% and the box basically hanged for live tv as the picture and sound just froze and I had to reset the H2K.

I just set up a recording using the Dish Anywhere app. Normally I would be thinking to myself what else I have recording at that time for conflicts. Generally I try to find if the show I want to record is replaying later at night to avoid any conflicts. Now I don't have to worry at all. It almost makes me want to record even more shows.

"For the customers in low beam areas they will not be able to upgrade to the Hopper 3 at this time due to equipment restraint. At this time there is not a work around to get it applied to the account."

No progress whatsoever since launch. I guess I'm SOL. Hope they figure it out before I get tired of waiting. I just don't get it. He had me verify my reception and I'm higher than the recommendations listed. Pretty big oversight on Dish's part.

I wish I could figure out how to do this. I have the app on my android phone, but can't figure it out. I'll try when I am at home and not being paid to do other things....

Help me out, you currently have Dish service and it's working okay ?

Free upgrade with 2 year contract, waived install fee with protection plan, also got 3 months free HBO. Will be here 12-5 Friday.

:amen

Free upgrade to the H3 here too, scheduled for Sunday install. I didn't get the 3 months HBO but since I am signing a 2 year contract, I am getting $360 in credit which is either $30/month for a year or $15/month for 2 years, I chose the former. Since there is a contract involved, I figure I would try to get something close to what new customers get, the closer the better except I don't have the free 1 year netflix, free protection plan for 6 months, free premium movie channels for 3 months which requires the 3 year price lock plan that saves basically $15 a month which is roughly the same for 24 months, only thing I'm losing out on is the free protection plan for 6 months which is roughly $48.

Can someone explain low beam to me? What makes someone in a low beam area? Or can it be house specific such as difficult to get an angle to sky over tall evergreen trees on lot?

Again, thanks for the reply but i was also asking "How do I know for sure which dish I have? and Why does the hybrid LNB only work with 1000.2 if the 1000.4 is the latest model?" If the 1000.2 is the current dish perhaps you could also expand upon why I got what looks like a 1000.4 nine months ago.
I happened across this question in a thread yesterday (not sure what one) - the answer to "what dish" was given as: the 1000.4 has a threaded rod and cam used for some sort of "fine tuning" and apparently the .2 does not have that.

Wonder what dish antennas are the installers favorites! The 1000.4 sounds pretty sweet to me with the threaded rod and cam for peak fine tuning. Am I wrong about that?

Definitely the 1000.2EA. It's light, easy to mount and aim and gets slightly better signals around here than the 1000.4, especially on 61.5.
