Hopper Duo Hard Drive Space

This is a constant problem! I've had a hopper duo for a few years after my 722 played out. For example, my hard drive will be 85% full when I go to bed, but when I turn it back on 10 hours later, it will be 97% full or even higher without anything being recorded overnight. No timers set or anything! No idea how this mysteriously happens. Any suggestions as to what I could do?

I have an external connected, which I sometimes have to move stuff to. I want to know why the hopper duo drive mysteriously fills up overnight.
