Hopper DVR fee

I currently have the vip 211 with an EHD attached to make it a DVR. My question is, if I upgrade to the hopper will I have to pay the DVR fee each month or can I just attach a hard drive and record to it, since I already paid the $40 activation fee?

The Hopper system is a DVR and requires a $12 whole home DVR fee. There is no way around it.

That $40 fee you paid is for making a 211 a DVR only. It does not reflect anything else on your account.

You're stuck with the fee. Currently at $12/mo.

Also, if you upgrade to the Hopper, you will not be able to view the 211 recordings using the Hopper. If you attach the EHD with the recordings to the Hopper, it will reformat the drive and you will lose any recordings on it.
