Hopper Phone Connection Failure

I have a 2 Hopper/2 Joey setup. While I have no problem with the phone connection on the Hopper connected to broadband via ethernet, the phone connection on my other Hopper (which isn't connected to broadband currently) keeps failing after running test connection. I've tested multiple phone lines and that isn't the problem. When I reset the Hopper via the red button on the front it connects. After one phone call comes in the Hopper it fails to connect all over again. My install was 3/18 and this started happening 3/23. Not a huge big deal, but I like using the caller ID function. Anyone experience anything like this?

I hooked a hopper up to phone two days ago and it killed dial tone to the customers entire phone network.
