Hi Guys.

I have dish 300 but I want to subscribe to some channels from dish network that are on staellite orbital 119. Dish network guys want $100 for dish 500 kit. I am looking for a cheaper option.

Can I use LNB from dish 500 on dish 300? Any other options?

Thanks.

The dish 300 can only look at one satellite at a time. A dish 500 can look at 2 satellites at the same time. Are you currently a DISH subscriber? If yes what channels or satellite are you getting? If for example you are currently aimed at 61.5 you would need to reaim the dish 300 at 119 and would only be able to receive signals from that satellite.

If you can remove the muliswitch from the system or gain acess to one, it can be done. I have a 300 dish on 119, a "super" dish on 105 and 110 and another 300 on 61.5 To do this I have the DPP44 multiswitch in my garage where all of the dishes come in, rather than use one that is built into a dish and then run the other dish lnb outs to that dish. For only 119, you really do not need anything other than the one dish, BUT I am not sure if that is allowed. The guide runs on 119 so that should be all is needed. I know I still get 119 if I disconnect the other dishes.

Bottom line... if nothing is on any other satellite and everything you want is on 119, then the 300 dish WILL work. The problem may come up that dish does not have any package that just allows a subscription to services on 119 only.
