How do I change credit card info?

My credit card expires this month and I have a new card which expires in 2015.
So my question is how do I change the expirey date to 2015 with out paying on the bill?
The CSR I spoke to said I have wait for a zero balance or pay the outstanding balance before I can change the expirey date.
This has to be incorrect but I can't get any more info.
Any help will be most helpful.

Log on to Dish.com. Go to My Billing and change the info there. And yes, you have to pay off the current balance and start with a 0 balance on the new card.

Also be wary after you change it, sometimes the auto pay skips the first payment after info has been changed.

So, go into My Billing the day before your bill is due and pay it off a day early. That's what I do.....

Yes, when you change the card, it will immediately bill the new card for the full amount you owe Dish, so do as Bobby said, wait 'til the last day to make the change.

I changed mine by making a 1 cent payment, but somehow it turned off autopay. I got a notice from Dish that my account was overdue and had to reinstate autopay.

you must have had a zero balance because DISH's system has ALWAYS been this way.

I had a zero balance and it still would only take the new credit card info, if I made a payment. Now Dish owes me 1 cent.
