how is billing date determined ?

I am switching from V* to E* on May 2.
How will E* determine when I am billed for monthly service ?

(1) the day I ordered service ?
(2) the day service starts ?
(3) something else ?

The day service starts. If you are only able to pay your bill at a particular time of month then I would call and ask when the bill would be due if you activated your service today and then figure the difference between the day you turn it on and when it will be due so that way you will not be late. You get a grace period anyways so that should be of no concern.
