Well, I had a lightning strike that took out my sat system. I had "moved" to birmingham to get locals, but had to move back home to get a tech to come fix it. He comes monday. Just curious how long you guys wait before "moving" back for locals?

Im probably going to give it a few weeks just to be on the safe side.

Yeah, and I'm sure you NEVER exceeded the speed limit even by 1 MPH. Get off your hypocritic high horse. Besides, it is legal, it's just against DTV's rules.

Actually it's against governmental regulations that don't allow sat providers to provide out-of-market local channels. D* TOS just gives a quick way to drop you.

But, I would move by the next day after the tech visit.

Some CSR will just tell you it's done and thank you for being a loyal D* customer. :up

Well, went ahead and moved back yesterday. No questions asked.

What did the tech. have to do to get your system up and running again ?

Replace receiver ?

Replace dish ?

Just wondering.

Had to replace the LNB and both HRs. In addition to several connecting ends, and regrounding the system. It was a total loss. Only thing that remained was the dish itself.
