Are there two cables that run from the dish to each receiver or just one? One receiver will be a HD DVR and the other with either be a SD or another HD DVR.

THanks!

Receivers need only one line, dvrs need two, unless you are using swm technology, then only one is needed.

Specifically, the dish will have either one or four outputs depending on which technology that you'll get. The one output is called SWM and the DVRs only need one input. The four output dish can support two DVRs, with two cables connected on each.

Actually a KA/KU non SWM dish can support up to 8 HD/DVR's via a 6x16 Multi-switch

But you are right, SWM is only one line, but most techs use a double line with a static ground messenger wire since it has the ground wire already on the coax. So basically with most techs, myself included, a dish will either have two lines if it is SWM or an 18" dish which you won't get since you have HD service, or Four lines if it is not a SWM install.

SWM is reserved for customers who have more than 5 lines going into the house and it is randomly flagged in the system for being a SWM install.

With two HD/DVR's you will only have 4 lines, so there will most likely be 4 lines going from the dish to the ground block. then four lines going from the ground block to the house, 2 for each reciever. This way you can record one show while watching another.
