How the Receivers select sats & Transponders

  • Server Issues.

We are very aware that there have been system issues the past few days. In troubleshooting the system, it has been determined that the issue is at our provider and is hardware related. As of 12:05 PM ET our provider has moved us to a new server.

Things seem to be running better on this new server. However in trying to diagnose the issue (before finding out it was a hardware issue) we made some system changes which we need to undo. So if you find any issues or errors please let us know in the Operations Center Forum.

Thank you for your patience! Sorry for the issue!

Can anyone refer me to a source of info on how the Directv receivers activate/select sats in the lnb? Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Sure, I'm going to fine tune my at9 setup. I'm not satisfied with the alignment job done by DTV representatives in my area. I purchased a DigisatIII Pro and being a retired electrical Engineer with experience in maintaining a "C Band" system for 12 years I think I can do a better job. I just don't know the particulars of the system. I understand that it uses voltage to set polarization and that a 22khz tone is used to switch between two satellites for alignment but that is about all. There are a couple of questions I have to ensure that I don't make a mess of things. It's always advisable to understand how a system/component works before attempting to troubleshoot/align it. Most of what I've found only addresses generic descriptions of the overall system of satellite Tv Delivery. Would appreciate any info. Thanks
