I'm curious about your current interest in everything DISH circa 2002. As far as your question, in 21 years as a retailer/installer, I've never disassembled an lnbf to determine if it was operational. Install it. If it doesn't work, swap it out. That said, other than a run of Dp lnbf's in the mid 2000's that had a high rate of heat related failures, they were very reliable.

The plastic cover snaps off, but the LNB itself is sealed. There's no way to disassemble and reassemble in the field.

This might give you an idea. I will say I'm also curious on how you would know whether it works or not by just looking at the components.

If it doesn't work, swap it out.

That truly is the best way to troubleshoot a questionable LNB.

If you disassemble it, it will almost certainly not work.

Yeah I disassembled a DPP Twin LNB You pretty well have to destroy the plastic cover, then the unit is sealed, was able to open it up and it's just a circuit board and the feed horn, for all the hassle, it's just easier to repla e the entire LNB putting it back together probably won't make it weatherproof anymore
