We need to be able to deploy software that doesn't come in .MSI format. For instance I need to deploy a custom install for our antivirus and it's in EXE format.

Group Policy would be perfect except you have to have the installer in .MSI format. There is the .ZAP format but I want to do this at the computer level and not the user level.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

I found a free EXE to MSI converter and created a group policy out of it but it's not deploying to my test machine at all during start up.

From my experience (in the old XP days) this is asking for trouble unless
- you do a fresh install, or
- all desktops are literally clones of each other.
Sometimes having or not done updates can send you hunting for registry conflicts...

I was putting everything into $OEM to be run during fresh install.
Doesn't work with Win7.

Diogen.
