Good morning from a grateful central KY resident who hasn't lost his power!
I am hoping there is an easy way to deal with this if you can't remember the code.

This morning, after watching local news the wifey wanted to change the channel on TV with joey2. Instead of pressing 209, she pressed 509. She realized the mistake and stopped. Parental control window came to the screen with 2 hidden numbers. Before she panicked I volunteered to solve the problem. Of course, I couldn't remember the code right away because we never use ppv movies. I tried few things that didn't help. Then, I remembered the 4 digit code and entered the numbers.
PPV movie selection was on the screen. I declined it and was able to get out.
My code is the same as garage door code to make it easy to remember. We still manage to forget it. I guess I can use a sticker behind the remote with the code on it if there is no way to leave the code screen.
Is it possible to avoid this in the future? Maybe, turn the Joey off and on?
We have plenty of wise guys here who probably know a solution. Thank you.

On the H3 on the settings select. Then parental controls. The top parental leave off until I turn them on. The pass code isn't needed while parental controls are off.

If I turn 'the parental control' feature off and accidentally change to channel to one of the fee based shows it does not start, Right?
I am required to decline it to avoid the hassle of calling Dish and claim I made a mistake?
No small kids at home or a tv in the guest bedroom. So, we are safe!!

The garage remote is attached to exterior wall, it is white and must press 'enter' after the code!! If I get that confused the wifey can put me in a nursing home and find some young gentleman!!

Boy does that sound familiar.

If you're on the parental lock screen you can press the Guide button and select a channel from there.

In the movie Spaceballs, the secret code used was "12345". If you don't have kids or other irresponsible people in your household, why not just use "1234" as your parental control #. It is very easy to remember. I use parental controls to eliminate the channels I never watch and don't want to ever see in the guide including almost all SD channels , shopping channels, extra fee to watch channels, etc.
