How to hook up both cable & Direct TV, same house?

".... The front half will get cable tv only. The back half will get D* only, but will also need one cable for my cable modem and my high-speed internet.

Have you considered using a Wireless router, or a "Through the House wiring" router to simply get the internet from the front to back rooms ..
This would eliminate any dealing with extra cables or drilling thru walls ... & give you functionality for wireless handheld devices & laptops too ..
I'm not familiar with how exactly the AC wire routers affect speed, but a good "N" or super G wireless router should be an acceptable soulution ..
 
this is in response to the guy who says that CATV systems are full and there are no vacancies...guess what channel 37 is empty and always has been.
