I hope so! They need a playoff system. BAD! I am pretty sure they can get some playoff games in between the last game of the regular season (NOV 22) To a BCS Bowl game (Jan 5).

Except that Utah was in the BCS this year. Therefore they really don't have any standing.
The only thing they didn't/couldn't do was get in the championship game. But since that game is not worth any additional money (nor any official NCAA standing), there is no legal harm.
The only avenue I can see that has legal standing, is the division of revenue from the BCS contracts, to which the non-BCS conferences get squat.
I want a playoff ASAP but this grandstanding prick better known as the AG of Utah should be removed from office immediately.
There are actual crimes and wrongdoings within the State's borders that need to be looked into, of that I'm quite sure.

Too bad there isn't a "Carlin This Makes No F**king Sense Law." You'd win on that in no time.
Forget anti-trust. All they need to do is put a provision in the stimulus package that Obama wants to create a playoff. You make Congress vote on the whole thing, take it or leave it, and say that if they kill it the country will go to hell. No one would dare to oppose a stimulus bill then because of a football playoff.
The BcS is a trust, pure and simple. The half of the division, including the Mountain West and CUSA, both of which are superior to the Leastleftovers, have to go undefeated to get into the lowest bowl, while the champions of the cartel leagues, including the woeful Leastleftovers, get an automatic bid. Further, below the BcS level, teams get automatic bids based on conference finishes, again with the non-cartel conferences getting scraps.
It should be destroyed and the cartel (the five major conference, Notre Dame and the Leastleftovers) members fined all of the money they have made from it, with it distributed to the excluded conferences.

This is stupid considering Utah's conference agreed to the current BCS system. If Utah wants to blame anyone they can start with their own conference.
The excluded conferences agreed to the BcS because they had no choice. It like saying baseball never should have been intergrated, because all of the blacks had agreed to contracts with the Negro Leagues.
Lets see. This is a "better" system.
This year we have multiple teams with the same number of losses, and one team from a "lesser" conference with none.
So, after week 12, a computer formula that no one understands says that Florida and Oklahoma are better than the other one-loss teams. The format then without thought or choice assigns teams from the five cartel conferences, including a Cincinnati team that belonged in the GMAC Bowl, if that, and a Virginia Tech team that really did not belong either. Utah is thrown a scrap to appease the non-cartel half of the division.
Then we go a full week into winter long after New Year's Day a succesion of meaningless bowl games. New Year's Day so unimportant that the best game that day was Black Hawks - Red Wings. Then the "BCS Championship". Not really a bowl at all. Just another ESPN-quality game played on a regular work-a-day Thursday in a pro stadium. And the winner is automatically "champion".
Under the old system, the teams would have been assigned by humans to bowls based on thought. At the end of the greatest day of sports of the year, the first day, humans would have looked, not at only 12 games, but at all 13, to determine a champion. No one has a gripe, because all have lost. If your team went 12-1 and was not champion, then schedule a harder schedule and don't lose next year. No one has a gripe but Utah, which has the same gripe now.

Yes, but I also remember the 2004 undefeated Auburn team as well. The BCS didn't do anything for them.
Under the old system, Auburn, USC, Utah, and Oklahoma would have played in four different bowl games, and NOTHING would have been settled.

Actually, this is exactly the way it works with the AP poll, still. The AP isn't affiliated with the BCS and the voters decided who was best.
The BCS was setup to match the two best teams for a national championship playoff. That's not the purpose of the AP poll.
But that's the problem. It's still arbitrary. If the NFL did that the SB would be the Giants vs. the Titans. The idea that people or computers can determine who the best 2 teams are is laughable.
Just to play Devil's Advocate, maybe it should be.
Anybody could have a bad day in the playoffs, and get beaten by a lesser team. With the BCS, the whole body of work during the season is taken into account.
Given your bitterness about the NFC Title Game and that the Super Bowl will have a 9-win team, I thought you'd be for it
