Does anyone know what utility is used to install the latest firmware on Coolsat's website to a Coolsat 7100 PVR receiver? The STB Tool utility I have doesn't recognize the .ird file format.

Also. I was able to export the channel list from my Coolsat 4000, but the Coolsat 7100 doesn't allow me to import this list. I guess they aren't compatible.

use the usb option...much easier. This is how the Visionsat works (same concept)

1. unzip file
2. copy to the thumb drive
3. turn off Coolsat with switch on back
4. insert thumb drive into receiver
5. turn on receiver with switch....unit will respond within 10 seconds
6. it will ask if you want to load software....press red button
7. when unit is done downloading it will reboot
8. turn off switch on back
9. remove thumb drive

THANK YOU. :up
Very interesting Iceberg, that firmware version is newer (1.16) than the one (1.14) on coolsatusa.com. I should know... I just downloaded it for the new used 7100 just bought.

Hopefully the newer firmware is better than 1.14.

The eye patch version that came on the receiver had support for stacked LNBFs. Version 1.14 does not.

All I had to do to install the firmware was put the ird file on the USB drive and insert it into a USB port. A pop up came up that asked me if I wanted to install the file.

Follow the bouncing ball.... and no more OCS.

yeah I noticed that too. Sadly some hacker sites have newer factory firmware than the "official" site. Coolsat 8000 was like that too. Version 2025 was on hacker site for a month before it came to company site

Glad you got it loaded right away. Its pretty easy to do :)

If the Coolsat 7100 is anything like the Visionsat, stacked LNBs will work fine (at least the Eagle Aspen P870s used on Superdishes will) with a L.O. of 10750 and a blindscan of vertical polarity.
