Maybe it's been discussed somewhere else, so sorry for the repetition. but, what I don't get is how can dish say they'll have the extra channels + 50 locations with national HD by the end of the year? Did they put a new bird up? where are they getting the bandwitch from? is it just from switching to MPEG4? D* put two new birds up and VERY slowly is adding HD locals in MPG4 and NO new HD nationals!

Ok, ECHO X is supposed to launch in FEB with many spotbeams

Rainbow 1 @ 61.5 also has quite a few spotbeams to be used

129 im sure has some, but I = dunno ATM

LA,NY,Boston,Chicago (iirc) go up, LA goes CONUS on 129(cept NE, sat limits), NY CONUS on 61.5

Then Boston and Chicago get spot beamed to there respective areas via R1 spots etc!

I think he means 1280x1080i, HD-LITE, and some 720p materials for HDLiL as well.

Even thats going down the drain, with subcahannels and all.

Hopefully HD-DVD/BLURAY comes soon for a true 1080p, but im not holding my breath

They will prob try to downres it, to cram in extras
