Does this mean VOD will finally be enabled on the HR21-700?

I try to go there now and all I get is a thud.

If it is activated on your account, then yes. I'm not sure how long they are delaying VOD activation, or if they are even doing them right now on HR21? They have many already active with HR20's that also are testing HR21s.

They used to activate it through a batch process that detected the software you were running and looked for the CE versions. Given the increased amounts of posts about it not working over the last few CEs on HR21, I have to wonder if they are still doing this right now?

On demand was enabled on the CE:03:04 build, tonights build is CE:03:08, so it's been out for the past three CE's, this is #4.

Okay help me out since I am new to this. What is the top items in the different colors mean? IS that the bugs that will be fixed if we download the new software ,or is that the bugs you will get if you down load the new software?

Every week or so there is an updated CE sent out. They add one version to the notes until DirecTV is satisfied and makes a national release to all receivers.

Then the process starts over again :

Internet Access finally fixed

I used to be unable to connect to the internet (was getting a self addressed IP (169.*.*.*)). This CE seems to have fixed that.
Haven't tried the daisy-chain ethernet port yet.
DoD still not working though.
And it seems that all my HD channels do now broadcast with pillar boxes.

Everything seems fine after the download. I see the shaded in lines for the unsubscribed channels. Alot of new channels with the -1 after them most dont do anything as of yet. No Dod but i did notice that when i hit the ondemand button. I now get the the doink noise were before i got the blue screen telling me about vod so that parts different. Plus i also notice the 5 to 10 episodes in the recording. Plus it also said whole series. Hopefully i can use the vod soon. I also noticed now that in playlist it has vod downloads which are empy as of now, But still different.

Problem: VOD downloads but won't play

I see it downloading but when I hit play I get just the grey screen on the top right side. Last version it worked fine. It would start downloading and I could play right away. Left it downloading something again and will wait to see if it only plays when it reaches 100%.

Anybody else with similar problem?

In my haste last night I tried the keyword search 'iwantmyvod' and got nothing. Today the list is populated and I am able to download and watch content. I was *not* able to watch as it downloaded through.

I've had my HR21 for a week now, and was suffering some serious TiVo withdrawals, particularly the 30 sec. skip function. Last Sunday, I discovered this site looking for some remedies, and the CE program is just what the doctor ordered. Although last night's download stumbled on my first two attempts, after unplugging the unit and reconnecting, the third time was the charm. Everything went as planned, I've got my SKIP function, and the menus seem to be working a bit better. I did notice that some of my recurring recordings were missing from the ToDo list and I wonder if that was the fault of the software update.
I'm not sure of what to expect from the DoD function as yet - I'm still trying to navigate the menus with some efficiency.
Oh, and is "Season Pass" a dirty word amongst HR21 owners?
