GERMANTOWN, Md., July 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the global leader in broadband satellite solutions and services, conducted a technology seminar last week in Mexico, D.F., during which executives discussed satellite industry developments and introduced the company's latest generation JUPITER Ka-band innovations to an audience of over 100 senior-level representatives from the telecom industry including operators, service providers and government officials. In addition, Hughes service provider customers Enlaces Integra, Pegaso Banda Ancha and SSL Digital shared their experiences, case studies and market offerings enabled by the company's HN and HX System product families.

Two new Ka-band satellite routers were showcased ? the HN9600 and HN9800 — which incorporate the same JUPITER technology that is the cornerstone of HughesNet® Gen4 in the U.S., the world's largest consumer satellite Internet service, offering speeds up to 15 Mbps and now with approximately 700,000 subscribers. According to the latest COMSYS report, Hughes remains the leading supplier of broadband satellite products and services globally. To date in Mexico — a strategically important market for the company — Hughes has shipped more than 42,000 satellite terminals.

"Hughes has been committed to the Mexican marketplace for the past 20 years and has established an enviable base of commercial and institutional customers, as evidenced by the attendees at this seminar," saidNick Marzella, vice president of sales in Latin America. "We are excited to now be bringing our latest JUPITER innovations to the Mexican market."

The company's roadmap of future developments was also presented, including its recently announced plan to launch JUPITER 2/EchoStar XIX in mid-2016, with over 150 Gbps of capacity to further power growth of HughesNet satellite Internet service in North America.

In closing, Eloy Mendez, regional sales director, stated, "We are pleased to provide our next-generation technology, experience, strong integration capabilities and local support to our valued customers, helping to contribute to their continued success."
