Humming and white lines

I just had the Dirctv Whole house HD DVR system installed. I have 4 receivers. The problem is with one of the standard receivers. It is experiencing humming and white rolling lines in the picture. This is also the receiver that has the power inserter attached. I have changed the cable from the reciever to the 1x4 splitter, no change. I also moved the AC cord from the TV to another outlet, no change. I unplugged the power inserter, no change. As soon as connect the cable from the power inserter tot he receiver the humming and lines start. Help!!

I would check the electrical outlet...just my thought.

It sounds like a grounding issue. Do you have an outlet tester? It looks like this:



It will tell you if your outlet is wired correctly.

Was it doing this while the installer was there?
