I noticed that everyone here with a HWS had Software version U715. My last update was in April and it was U714. So this morning I updated my software. Thanks charlesrshell for the instructions. The HWS updates the same way as the H3. When the update was complete I checked to verify that it actually updated. To my surprise the software version is U717. Things look about the same as they were.

Does anyone know what this update has changed?

I think the icons on the DVR, settings, etc look different. The On-Demand Folder says Downloads and Rentals now, not just rentals, thank GOD. (I hate having to clarify to new customers that the rentals folder doesn't mean you're paying for everything you download)

In the Hopper 3 the Voice search box menu is now at the bottom of the screen when you activate it with the voice 54.0 remote control. Is it that way too in the HWS? This change may have been in the previous software update.

No, you're right and it is the same on all the Hoppers

So, did they get the Snap issue sorted out yet so they can actually start releasing them? (I'm still unclear as to why they won't release them to those of us who only have one receiver...)

We put them in on all single Hopper 1 or Hopper 2 installs. No idea how they're handling existing customers.

I received my Snap module from Scott and it's all good, a significant improvement for the HWS. For those that call customer service and ask for the Snap, what do they tell you?

"Huh?"

;)

Sent from my iPhone using SatelliteGuys App. For now.
Why was that a strange question? All I asked was if someone calls customer service these days and asks for a Snap module, what do they say. Do they send them one or do they say they're still not available? Perhaps there are some CSR's that still don't know what a snap module is.

I think Navy was answering your question with humor. I think he was saying that when someone calls customer service for a SNAP the CSR says 'huh?'. :)

Once again, as Scott has posted before, do not call for one of these until he posts that they are available, The CSRs have no idea what you are talking about until they hit the system....

Time to pull up along side the stage coach - I'm mean dish truck.
