Firstly i really apologize for the size of this post as i am tired been thinking of ways to balance my budget with dish raising prices this high its a double blow on me with 2 accounts i really am going to have to cancel one now.

Ok i am so fed up with them changing things around i am close to terminating service do to the inability of them to make billing understandable for normal folk. Sigh i am pretty frustrated right now i have the 3 months free hbo/starz deal from signing up on my second account at my apartment "first account at parents home."

Well i paid $91.86 the initial payment and then one second payment of $75.95. I signed up this account on Jan 21st 2009. I am about to cancel the free movie channels but i got a bill for $106.07 already  I go to the dish site and am dumbfounded what to do i haven't the time to call and wait on hold to speak with an Indian from India no offense.

I wanted to cancel online but i am confused what to cancel i supposedly had the dvr advantage but its different now. I am going to post snips of my bill can anyone help me i need to cancel this soon. This is original bill here. I really only wanted the DishDVR Advantage 250+All the Hd I don't know what its called now Gold HD+Plat Hd its a total mess dish has made. Help :( Should i just cancel the 5 Premium Package 50.00 that i assume is the hbo/starz why does it say 5 Premium Package isnt it 2?? Also why does my second account have a Leased Receiver Fee 7.00 if i only have one receiver on that account man i should just cancel both accounts.

Let me add a little to the confusion. Here is my bill, pretty simple and easy to read to me. Now if the package names just translated to their web site.

DishDVR Advantage Classic Silver 200 - You Saved $0.98! 57.99
Classic Gold 250 10.00
GoldHD 10.00
PlatinumHD 10.00
TV2 Receiver Connection - (You Saved $5 By Connecting Your Duo Receiver To A Phone Line / Broadband.) 0.00
Duo Receiver - (You Saved $5 With DishDVR Advantage!) 0.00
Duo Receiver 5.00
Total 98.81 after taxes.

Why is the Duo Receiver fee waved and then charged again?

So I want to save money and wonder what channels platniumHD have. So I find a channel list pdf and decide to get rid of platniumhd.

I go to dishnetwork and logon to my account and I am presented with the following programming options.

Classic Bronze 100 $34.99
Classic Bronze 100 Plus $39.99
Classic Silver 200 $47.99
Classic Gold 250 $57.99
America's Everything Pak $97.98
DishFAMILY $19.99
DishFAMILY w/ Classic Bronze 100 $54.98
DishFAMILY w/ Classic Bronze 100 Plus $59.98

GoldHD $10.00
PlatinumHD $10.00

Houston, TX DMA Package $5.99
Superstation Package $5.99

I choose Classic Gold 250 for $57.99, GoldHD for $10.00 and my local channels for $5.99. This all totals $73.98

When I continue I am given the following programming.

DishDVR Advantage Classic Silver 200 You Saved $0.98! $57.99
Gold HD $10.00
Classic Gold 250 BONUS PAK $10.00
Fee $5.99

The total changes to $82.99 and yet they point out that I saved $0.98. How come it isn't $73.98 + what ever the $5 fee is for? And why do the packages change names 2 times?

I'll Try and help.
The Top 250 Pack for $57.99 is the Price without Locals or DVR
So if you want Local and DVR , They Give you the Classic Silver 200 Pack as the DVR Atvantage Base Pack For $57.99,
(THEN They add The 250 Bonus Pack for another $10, Thats $67.99,
Now For the HD Gold thats another $10 $77.99
Hd Platinum is another $10 for $87.99)
This is a 3 Premium package.
So now your Starz and HBO makes up the other 2 for a total of 5.

Classic Gold 250 for $57.99 doesn't include Locals or DVR. If you have a DVR , Your automaticly Bumped up to the DVR atvantage Pack which is Classic Silver, with 250 Bonus pack ,and that Price is $67.99. You can't have a DVR ,and not subscribe to DVR service. Its Not allowed.

I'll Try and help.
The Top 250 Pack for $57.99 is the Price without Locals or DVR

This helps alot. If they would just explain this on their website. I also called and with out DVR advantage it would be $6 more or so. I guess that's where they say you save $.98

It would be nice if there were an official "Billing Questions" thread...:D

OK here goes...

I get the Classic Gold 250 HD with Locals and Superstations with a VIP722 and a second DVR510....

Dishnet local package 8.99
Dish Network DVR service fee 17.94
Classic Gold 250 57.99
America's Top 250 adjustment - 9.17
Gold HD 10.00
TV2 Receiver Connection 0.00
Solo DVR receiver 5.00

Talk about confusing! Are we with the same company?

How much is this bill?
Current Programming: DishLATINO Bonus Pack w/ Playboy, Classic Silver 200, GoldHD Local Channels: Superstation Package, Charleston, WV DMA Package Premium Channels: HBO, Starz!, Playboy TV International or Ala Carte Add-ons: Fox Sports Ohio, Fox Sports Cincinnati, Big Ten Network, SPORTS TIME OHIO, DISH Home Protection Plan, DISH Network DVR Service Fee, Classic Gold 250 BONUS PAK

Smartest thing you have done.

You have the same package I have (minus the platinum)The best thing you did was cancel the platinum package,it is not worth it and extra 10.00 a month,I beleive that if you have classic 250 and HD gold all the Platinum channels should be included. The more people to cancel platinum the better as Dish will realize it needs to change or eliminate that package.Just my opinion!!!

As someone new to Dish, there programming website looks like it could use a bit of a freshning up. If I am am looking at there site right under classic 250 under the sports section, looks like there are some RSN channels that you get, but from what I read, you really need the 5.99 sports pack??. I will use Madison square garden channel as an example, I know you dont get the "games" but there is some other programming that I may be intrested in. Maybe I am wrong but I dont think the RSN's are part of the 250 pack??
