Why do new network TV shows look so awful?
A comedy is supposed to be well lit and bright. A drama is supposed to be less lit and dark.
These new network TV shows are neither bright nor dark. They have some really strange lighting where they are sort of bright but not really and they are sort of dark in spots, I guess, but not really. It's like a weird washed out image.
This is not the case when I watch shows on sub-channels from even a few years ago. Friends is well lit. Law and Order is dark and dramatic. The dramas from TNT that now air on Start are normal and seem fine.
But the new shows across CBS, NBC, and ABC are just like washed out and weird. It is odd to me.
