iMessage down?

Is anyone else having issues using iMessage on their iOS device? My 4S would get stuck sending messages via iMessage (SMS works fine) even after a restart and now my text messages are all sending SMS as the default.

Seems like its working again. Strange.

Nope. It's down again. What's strange is mine it won't convert to SMS like it's suppose to if iMessage isn't working.

I had that problem last week. Don't remember which day, but it would take a minute and all imessages would time out and then ask to go via SMS. Was an annoying problem for about an hour.

I've been getting messages with no problems today - at least I think there have been no problems. I suppose there could be messages lost out there.

No, I don't think messages are lost.
Two Wednesdays ago, 5th of Sept, I kept trying to iMsg my lawyer.
He has a 4S and I have a 4.
I kept getting a red, "Not delivered" message.
After a few hours, I tried again, and they went through.
Of course, I did have to resubmit the message, but it was pretty clear I had to.

The phone doesn't retry on its own.
Maybe the next version will ...

I have been having problems all day. Most of my messages have been going through but after a long delay. I have been getting a lot of replies back as text 2 or more times and then later getting the same message from iMessage. It is a national problem according to imore.com.
