INHD footage on HDNEWS

Possible old news, but couldn't find any mention of it in the forums.

Don't know if we should read anything into this, but HDNEWS is showing some footage of the Tour de France and it has the INHD logo (complete with "only on cable") in the bottom left corner. I would think that VOOM had to get permission from INHD to show these clips. Good to know they're doing business to some extent.

For television clips you don't need permission to use clips for newscasts, you can use them under fair use laws. You can show up to a certain length from a game. Oh corse some sports do have rules like you can't show video highlights until the game is over. But using others video is ok as long as its in a specified time and that you don't cover up and graphics banners etc...

Such clips are available to anyone as long as they put "courtesy of inHD". BTW, HDNews also shows clips from HDNet.

Ah, thanks for educating me on that. I was kind of hoping there was more to it than that. Oh well....

It does show that they have a INHD feed going to their newsroom.

Man, it would be nice to see the Tour in HD.

But OLN will have it in whatever mode they offer.
