Install question

Fellas,

I am in Florida and was getting ExprssVu fine until hurricane Wilma, the hurricane blew my dish to hell, (it is probably somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean now!!) What dish can I buy and use and where should I aim it so I can get my signal back? I am in Margate, Florida (26.25N and 80.21W). Please help.

Thanks

Ok....the Dish Network original non-dish pro 500 will work for BEV. I do not know about the DishPro models as I use legacy equipment.

If you go the Dish 500 route, average between 81 and 92.

Nimiq 2 82.0W 184.0 189.9 59.3 3.6
Nimiq 1 91.0W 203.3 209.2 57.0 20.8

So it is roughly 199 magentic north, elevation about 58 degrees and a skew of 12.

The Dish 500 is about a 20 inch dish. What size was your original dish? The reason i ask is that a 20 inch dish is pretty small for BEV in Florida. I would recommend a bigger one especially as Nimiq 2 is very hard to receive with it's low power - probably something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5794558487&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

If you had single lnbs in your old dish, you could move them to this new setup.

Iceberg..

Do you know of an installer I can call for my problem, in Margate (Ft. Lauderdale) FL ???

Thanks
MC "CocoLoco"

I'm in MN so I honestly don't know...thing is most installers wont touch ExpressVu due to the legalities (technically EVu cant sell outside of Canada)

Self install might be easier....HDTV posted the info above :)

Both legacy and DishPro LNBs work with the 3100. Both worked with my 3100...that's until I migrated to *C.

I had a Dish500 Twin LNB setup. Never ran into any problems.

Transponder Issues

I finally got my dish working (after the hurricane here in Florida (Margate , fl 33063) with the help of some friends we installed two separate single LNB dishes, one at Nimiq 1 and the other at Nimiq 2 and used a 21 switch to merge them, one problem now, with the dish I have at Nimiq 1 (at Sat 91) I don't get transponder 3, 7, 9, 11, 17, 21, 23, 25, so I am only getting about 75% of my channels.

How can I fix this?

Please help.

Coco

I'm only to say this one more time......PLEASE QUIT POSTING MULTIPLE THREADS OF THE SAME THING!!
It is too much of a pain in the ass following multiple threads with the same thing. Until the system is working, please post here :)

I merged the 2 threads togwether and closed the 3rd....read my post right above yours. It has all the answers you need about the missing Transponders :)

Iceberg..

Where can I find the co-ordinates for N3 for Margate, FL 33063, the other guy (earlier in this thread) gave me a list of all sats but no N3, can I just install a separate dish and aim at N3 and merge all signals with a 21 switch?

Thanks again

Coco

N3 and N1 are at the same location, N1 has all the even transponders and 13, and N3 has the rest of the odds.

The N3 footprint excludes the deep south of the US and the far west coast, so it is not possible to pick up these transponders.

You should not have been able to get these TPs for quite some time, as N3 went live quite a while ago.

CocoLoco-
There is an installer in Delray- ATlantic Satellite- very good, will install your dish and set your coordinates. Look in phone book or call info.
