I just installed a Slimline 5 LMB dish and have it working and tuned to 101, used the wet cloth over the 110 and 119 LMB's to make sure, but my H20 and H10 receivers only see 101, 110 and 119 and no other satellites. Am I suppose to tell the receivers that they have new dish?

I'm thinking (it's been a long time since I did anything with my H10, I don't believe the H10 sees the newer sats as they are also MPEG2 only units, so you won't get much off of them other than the 101 I think.

The H20 DOES do Mpeg 4 and you should get your full allotment from that recvr.

Go to Menu/Set Up/System Set Up/Sat and Ant/Repeat Sat Set Up.
Tell it you have a 5 lnb and a Multiswitch

Great help, that got me further, however, on sat 103S and 99S very low signal, any suggestions there????

IF you have strong signal on the 101 (85 and up on the majority) you'll want to dither , kinda like a fine tune adjustment, they are the bolts below the main frame, one going one way and the other the other, this adjusts the dish Azimuth and Elevation very slowly and very small increments at a time.

103s and 99s carry only spotbeams, so it is normal to see low or even zero signals on many of the transponders. The H20 should get high 80s to 90s on all the 99c, 103ca and 103cb transponders if the dish is aligned correctly. As was posted, your H10 won't see any of the 99 or 103 satellites, it will only receive SD from 101/119 (there's nothing on the 110 sat right now).

Thanks for the confirmation Texasbrit, I was pretty sure that the H10 wasn't able to see the 99 and 103, but knew the H20's did.

you would set that H10 up for 3 LNB in the setup

Now if its a SWM setup that wont work at all...wont even see 101 properly

Yes, as iceberg says, if you have an SWM dish the H10 won't work at all...

My newest problem. The H20 receiver worked with HD for a day, but now I do not get many channels at all. I get 360 but none of the movie channels, local channels etc. ALL of the channels are giving me a 771 error. The signals are all over 92% and I do have a b converter on the input. I only have one coax going to the back of the H20, is that the problem? What should I check ? I have ordered another set of b converters but they have not come in yet. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Your browser does not support iframes.

Just went through all of the 500's and I get two of them 501 and 549, does that mean anything?

Can you post the signal strengths for all of the satellites? You may have an alignment issue.

looks good

the ones with (S) as noted are spotbeams so they can show 0, 100 or something low
119 has spotbeams too and will show 0 on some

Your signals are fine. Do you mean an H20 receiver or an HR20 DVR? If it is a DVR, if you only have one cable connected you will keep getting 771 messages because the second tuner has no signal. And even if you connect a second cable, you will get 771 messages on that tuner on most HD channels until you connect a BBC.

Ok, texasbit, by the way I am in Austin. Now we are getting somewhere. First I just ran another coax so I would have two connected to my DVR -H20! I only have one B band filter so can I make it work with what I have or does it require two b band filters, I have ordered a couple from Directv but of course not word on those.

Thanks for your help

OK, then I will see if I can find a couple of b band converters here in town tomorrow.

Thanks to all

I doubt you will find them in a retail store. You're best bet is to flag down a Directv install truck.

And just to repeat. if it's a DVR, it's NOT an H20, it is an HR20. Big difference!!
