I totally agree in the statements that Liberty is either trying to force a merger (yet News Corp would still maintain total control) or more likely trying to force News Corp to buy off some of their holdings.

But wouldn't that be a conflict of interest if Liberty, who is a cable company, aquires News Corp who owns Directv?

There are so many rules who knows. I cant see them going for it if they knew it was illegal.
