I could not get my 3GS to sync, plus some apps disappeared and others would not run. They'd flash on, then disappear. And my Riverdance ringtone disappeared.

So I called Apple, got a human in about a minute, and he was good. Treated me respectfully, not like I was a moron. And he was in no hurry. In fact, he said he'd been on a 4 hour support call earlier in the day. We got things brought to rights, partly by simply moving the USB cable from a front panel connector to one in the back.

This call alone makes me have no regrets over the price of the iPhone.

I'm no fanboy, but credit is given where credit is due. I've never in my life had such a pleasant experience with a CSR.

I still don't want a Mac, even though my son is quite happy with his 6 year old Mac laptop.
