Is Direct BS'ing me?

Yesterday I had Dish Network come out and install service. I was supposed to get HD stations(I did in 09 when I last used Dish) but the tech said I couldn't because of the tress around my yard. Today I call Direct and they tell me that I would indeed be able to get HD, but I think they are just bs'ing me. If DN can't provide me HD now why would DT be able to?

Also, are there any promo codes I could use if I decide to get service?

You may have a clear line of site to Directs satellites 99-101-103 and not to dishes birds. A sight survey will tell you. You can do it yourself if you understand this stuff.

You can use Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com and enter your address to see what you can get. The services look at different satellites in different parts of the sky so you very well may be able to get something with one service but not the other service.
