Hey guys I'm trying to change the dish configuration for the h24 direct tv receiver. The receiver is hooked up on our boat to a Kvh tracvision tv3 when I try to Arrow to the left to change the drop downs it automatically starts loading as if I pressed the continue option. It's not letting me change the settings. Any idea why this is happening. Thanks for the help our other boat has the same receiver and Kvh setup so I'm trying to mirror its satellite setting this one gets all the channels where the other one gets like 2 channels. Pic attached for the receiver getting all the channels.

:welcome to Satelliteguys Bgibson2334!
Obviously yours isn't a common setup. Hopefully one of our members has a similar situation and can give you some good advice.

The best people that I know of for setting up marine installations are at SolidSignal. I am only a retired engineer who has a long experience with DIRECTV systems in a residential environment. Your H24 is set up for a SWM LNB or SWM switch. They often arrive defaulted to SWM mode and won't detect signal until manually changed. You will need a B-Band converter.

1. Physical Wiring
• LNB → (any port) → coax → B‑Band Converter → H24 "SAT IN 1"
• No SWM power inserter.
• No splitter.
• No external multiswitch needed for a single receiver.

2. Receiver Configuration
On the H24:
1. Menu → Settings → Satellite → Repeat Satellite Setup
2. Set:
• Dish Type: SL3 or SL5 (depending on your LNB, not sure of your marine antenna)
• Switch Type: Multiswitch (NOT SWM)
3. Save and allow the receiver to run signal detection.

That is all from internet research. It may have been obsoleted by firmware changes on the H24. I haven't had my hands on any Hx2x receiver in years, but it fits with what I recall from when I had an HR24.

My previous reply is probably incorrect. The specs for your KVH TracVision TV3 on the SolidSignal website says that it has a built in SWM multiswitch. SO the above setup for a legacy LNB would be incorrect. Your problem with reception lies elsewhere.]
